Precision Half-Cell Testing Package

Controlled preparation, standardized construction, clear deliverables.

A complete testing package for battery-material developers who need dependable lithium half-cell data from one-sided coated electrode sheets.

The standard package

Three or more replicate cells for each material.

Customers provide a one-sided coated electrode sheet. ON Cell Technologies handles electrode preparation, cell assembly, electrochemical testing, quality review, and data processing.

Complete project packageQuoted by material and testing scope rather than isolated per-cell assembly.
Standard two-week turnaroundMeasured from receipt of an approved, usable sample and completed project information.
Data-first deliverablesPhysical cells are not normally returned unless arranged before the project.
CR2032 coin-cell spacers, springs, and casings
Included in the package

A controlled path from sample intake to final data.

Standard graphite protocol overview

Designed to reveal electrode behavior—not assembly noise.

For graphite anode half-cells, the standard voltage window is 0.005 V to 2.0 V versus Li/Li⁺. Cells undergo a six-hour monitored rest followed by a standard four-cycle test, with custom conditions available when the project requires them.

The electrochemical data collection itself typically takes three to four days. The published two-week turnaround includes intake, electrode preparation, assembly, testing, quality review, data processing, and reporting.

Detailed protocol parameters are finalized during consultation.
Suitable cathode materials require project-specific voltage windows and cycling procedures.
Standard deliverables

Results organized for technical decision-making.

The primary product is objective, reproducible performance data—not a guaranteed material outcome.

Charge and discharge profilesIndividual-cell voltage and capacity behavior.
Reversible capacity and first-cycle efficiencyCalculated values for each valid cell.
Replicate comparisonsCell-to-cell agreement, variation, and outlier visibility.
Raw cycler filesOriginal data supplied with the processed results.
Optional results reviewA meeting to explain delivered graphs and testing observations.
Custom electrode projects

Expand the standard package when the research question requires it.

Custom work is quoted according to replicate count, cycling protocol, duration, and reporting needs.

Additional replicates

Increase the number of cells per material for broader validation or statistical confidence.

Benchmark comparisons

Compare suitable graphite anode materials with established QCG-X benchmark data upon request.

Custom cycling

Alternative voltage windows, rates, cycle counts, and extended cycling can be quoted for electrode projects.

Sample requirements

One-sided coated electrode sheets only.

ON Cell Technologies does not currently accept raw active-material powders or double-sided coated electrodes.

Before shipping, customers provide clear photographs of the electrode sheet for an initial suitability review.

One-sided coating requiredThe active coating must be present on only one side of the current collector.
Ship with desiccantSamples should be protected from moisture exposure.
Minimal peeling or damageCoatings should remain well adhered and packaging should prevent bending or scratching.

Acceptance & rejection

ON Cell Technologies may reject contaminated, moisture-damaged, delaminated, bent, scratched, unsafe, poorly packaged, undersized, or otherwise unsuitable electrode sheets.

Damage or contamination occurring before receipt remains the customer’s responsibility.
